Giraffe

I wanted to make my friend Sara a giraffe for Christmas so I sought out a pattern and I think he turned out pretty adorably. I really love his sweet little button eyes.

Christmas Gifts.

I know I haven't been very consistent on my posting lately but I'm really hoping to improve on that very soon.

I wanted to post some pictures and thoughts on how some of the Christmas gifts I made turned out.

First was a beanie that I made for Miss Rylee. It was one that I had been wanting to make for a long time and I LOVE the way it turned out. Complete with earflaps and a pom pom it was a big success.

Then I ventured into the fingerless glove and mitten arena this past Christmas and I was extremely pleased with how they turned out. I made the fingerless gloves from a pattern I bought from Sylver's amazing Etsy shop. The mittens I made from a very simple generic pattern. I decided to add a couple of heart appliques to spice them up a bit.

A scarf for Miss Cami

I made a scarf for my baby cousin Camilla and it came out adorable! I love the way her monogram came out and she liked it a lot too. (I think her mommy, Brandyce, liked it even more.) They both went back to the 38 degree Texas weather with their custom made scarves.

Where have I been?!?!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to be as creative as I would have liked this holiday season...BUT I have been working on a couple new things.

I think I have finally perfected the Nicole Guthary Scarf! I have figured out the perfect yarn and size and just about everyone seems to agree that the new heart decals are a success. I have a couple more to make for Christmas, including a sweet little purple one for my 3 year old cousin Camilla that her mom custom ordered. Camilla's heart will have her initials in it...so stay tuned for photos of that one. In the meantime here's one that I made for my annual Secret Santa girls' gift exchange. Kim just happened to get it and I think by the look on her face, she was happy with it! (She also got a reindeer that poops jelly beans that her 5 year old thought was pretty cool!)

 

 

 

I have been working on fingerless gloves and mittens this season and I must say...they're coming out pretty amazingly!

Then, of course, there are beanies that just wow me sometimes and I made a pretty neat one for Rylee, my someday to be little stepsister. I can't post the pic just yet but after she gets it I'm sure there will be a super cute pic of her in it!

It's almost winter time in Southern California!

Which means that I am busy creating beanies and scarves for the winter season. There are some cool new things in the works for this winter so keep checking back for updates.

I've recently been working on some baby things for my sister and there was an absolutely adorable blanket that took me more time than I would have hoped but here it is for your viewing pleasure.

And next the amazing scarf that I made Candice for her August birthday which I just gave to her because...well...it's been HOT! But I was really happy with how the applique turned out, and the whole finished project as a whole. 

Brenda's Birthday Beanie...or whatever you wanna call it.

I made this awesome hat for Brenda for her birthday and I love how it came out. She loves green so I found a great cotton variegated yarn and then gave it a solid green edge. There was a pattern that I started out following but as usual it ended up as a Nicole creation. I really love how it came out and I added elastic to the edging so that it would keep it's shape and stay on her head without pins. She loved it and it fit her great. I think these will be appearing for sale this year too.

Baby Booties and Hat
